Wondering about something in Harry Potter 6?

Remember, Dumbledore's a _really_ powerful wizard. I always assumed he was applying a bunch of invisible magical tests to determine what needed to be done. We're in Harry's head. He's only a student - he probably doesn't even know such spells exist.
